Our history

Renshi O'Reilly started his karate journey under the instruction of Renshi Andy Kidby at the Newport Pagnell dojo, within an association called TASK.

Renshi O'Reilly obtained 1st Dan within TASK.

Renshi Kidby, Sensei Bernard Coppen and Sensei Pete Calver split from TASK and formed CFTS (Central Federation of Traditional Karate).

Renshi O'Reilly obtained 2nd Dan in the first Dan grading held by CFTS.

Renshi O'Reilly obtained 3rd Dan within CFTS, and also became joint instructor of the successful Wolverton dojo at this time.

Renshi O'Reilly obtained 4th Dan within CFTS.

Renshi O'Reilly undertook the production and delivery of an association course called Kahon Katei — the culmination of his 5th Dan grading.

Renshi O'Reilly took the decision to move away from CFTS and form Kazoku Shotokan Karate (KSK) under the governing body of the BMABA.

Renshi O'Reilly obtained 6th Dan.

Sensei Saunders and his Clapham club moved from CFTS to join KSK, with him becoming Senior Instructor within the association.
